Kasab is Pakistani ... So what?

I have been hearing this debate over the citizenship status of Kasab. India keeps insisting that he is a Pakistani and Pakistan keeps refuting it. What point does the Kasab’s citizenship status prove or disprove?

The Mumbai Terror strike was not possible without a strong support from elements within India. Indian investigating agencies have already arrested and charged many Indian citizens in connection with Mumbai attacks. So, what if a non-Indian too is involved. If Kasab is a Pakistani, how does it prove that Pakistani government had backed the Terror strike? If we go by the same logic, it will mean that even the Indian government was backing the terror strikes, as Indian citizens were involved too.

Raising such petty issues is a tactics by two governments to divert attention from real burning issues. While Indian government is facing strong criticism from the sections with in India for its leniency against terror outfits, the Pakistani government is under strong international pressure to act against the terrorist networks being run from Pakistan.

Governments in both the countries are trying to correlate terror with the long-term enmity between two countries. Both the governments are trying to raise issues related to national pride & pretend to its people that they have kept the upper hand during the conflict. This might help the two governments thwart the public ire and they might get some breathing space. But the truth will remain that the leadership in both India and Pakistan have failed miserably in serving the interest of its citizens.

Terrorists have no or country or religion - Terrorist are mere terrorists - they are neither Indian nor Pakistani. They are neither Hindu nor Muslim.

The strength of human race remains in the fact that all human beings are inclined to work towards a common good. We might come from different castes, religions and countries and we might have some differences given our diverse origins, but on a higher plane we all are same.

I am convinced deep inside, that each human being is driven by forces and instincts to help others and create happiness. Some times we are overtaken by momentary fits of hate and destruction, but the fact that humanity is only growing stronger is a proof that good always prevails.

Media, print and electrone, in both the countries, is engaged in propagating the state game to attach the tag of a religion or a country to a terrorist. In fact, a terrorist is a non-state and non-religious character who should be dealt with as a law and order issue besides combating the dangerous philosophy behind the dirty game on political level.

its not that the entire pakistan becomes responsible as soon as Kasab is declared a pakistani.
The only thing is that once kasab is proved to be a pakistani, the pakistan govt automatically becomes responsible in helping India in figuring out details about kasab and who else was he connected to.

The point you have raised here is right to the extent that even some of our country men are also involved in the Mumbai attacks.Only local elements can provide logistical support to carry out such attack. However lets not rule out that terror is emanating from Pakistan.India cannot afford to be mistaken as a soft state. We cannot live with terror forever in our lives. There has to be an end.
