Who is funding the Islamic Terrorism?

I have been hearing about the western propaganda that Oil rich Arab countries are funding the Islamic Terrorism. But the evidences suggest otherwise.

All the so called “Islamic” Terrorist Camps appear to be based in Pakistan. Pakistani economy has become too fragile to sustain itself. The country is being run on funding by USA government and the IMF (which is again backed by USA). I have so far not heard of any Arabic country sending financial aids to Pakistan. So, I am wondering what the truth is.

The theory being put up by USA (and other western media) in support of the financial aids to Pakistan is that the Islamic Militia in Pakistan does not enjoy government support. So, a weaker government in Pakistan would lead to rise of hardliners and a bigger threat. But, the recent terror attacks in Indian financial capital have proven that the Pakistani borne terrorism has direct support backing from ISI. The refusal by civil government to act strong against the culprits even suggests the sympathy of civil government to the terrorists.

Let us think rational - which country would most want to run a strong armed network in Asian region? The only country which is notorious for raising such covert operations is USA. They have done it for years to fight the communist forces during cold war. In the modern era they want to do it to fight against the rising economic strength of two large Asian countries. Does it make sense? To me it does.

“The headquarters of the Al Qaeda, the headquarters of the Taliban, the headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba, the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammad is in the world center of terrorism — Pakistan, All the roads of world terrorism lead to Pakistan. Salman Rushdie at a Panel Discussion organized by New York’s Asia Society.

You are correct, Kunal. We are merely, though unfortunately willing, pawns at the hands of imperialist powers who are the sole beneficiary amidst growing distruct and enmity between the two countries, seperated six decades ago. Sooner we understand this power politics and game, better for us will be.

I have read some dumb stuff here on IB, but saying that the western media promulgates the idea that Pakistan does not support Pakistan-originated terrorism, or that ”all the roads to terrorism lead to Pakistan” is quite simply cretinous beyond belief.

We in the west are the imperialists? You are fighting us?

Ok, fine, if that’s your point of view.

Defend terrorism. No problem.

But I hope that you, and people who are gullible or senile enough to think like you, know that where I come from, we fight people who fight us.

Ok?

(Oh, and shouldn’t you be in bed now? Don’t you have college tomorrow)

Hi Michael,
”all the roads to terrorism lead to Pakistan” is a statement from Salman Rushdie which I just quoted. But, I find it quite true. The terrorist training camps mainly exist in Pakistan. It is mainly because of logistics regions. The other countries in the world do not have political will, money & government support (a combination of all these) to run such camps.
....
I would want you to get in to the history of Taliban and the ISI (Pakistan’s secret agency) supported terrorism. It stated way back during cold war - the terrorist camps were started and funded by support from CIA and these camps served to create an arm militia which could fight Russian forces (Afghan-Russia border). Pakistan agreed to this deal with CIA, because it was given liberty to use the same militia to fight with India on Kashmir border. Till date the Pakistani Government, ISI and Pakistan based Terror Camps are being run on Military and Monetary support from USA.
....
There are powers in west which are Imperialist. It does not mean that all westerners are Imperialist. They are not. There are common people who want to see world as a peaceful and happy place. These common people constitute the majority, but sadly enough the national policies are decided by handful of people.
....
Who is fighting USA? Have you seen any country fighting with USA? USA is the one who has invaded sovereign countries from time to time. The people who make such insensible decisions, tell their citizens that it was needed for the national security. And people who are gulling or sensible, start believing such logics. Have you forgotten the invasion of Iraq on pretext of destroying WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction)? Has your Mr Bush (who supported the theory of WMD) every said sorry to Iraqi People, USA people, or the World? He will never do that because he always knew that there is no such thing as WMD. The invasion of Iraq was a part of his national policy - to create a Military Base (similar to Pakistan) in Middle East.
.....
If USA has invaded and destroyed Iraq & Afghanistan in war against terror, why is it protecting Pakistan? The terrorist camps in Pakistan will not survive without USA’s military support. Pakistan economy will not survive without USA’s monetary support. Pakistan is a puppet - the real players are elsewhere.
